MOOD-SUBSTRATE

Prior: Mood volatility in a person with a history of affective dysregulation is not a layer on top of health — it IS the substrate behaving as an unstable runtime. Every downstream intervention (sleep discipline, food quality, movement consistency) has its effect size gated by whether the affective substrate is stable enough to hold behavior across time. A mood episode does not subtract from capacity the way a bad night does; it resets the entire stack to zero and erases weeks of accumulated infrastructure.

Moonshot (OPT∘OPT): If affective stability is treated as the zero-layer beneath sleep/food/movement/social rather than a parallel track, every health intervention becomes compoundable: the same 7-hour sleep protocol that adds 5% capacity to a stable person adds 40–60% to a mood-volatile person whose previous gains kept being erased. At max scale — systematic mood-substrate monitoring preceding every health protocol decision — intervention yield per person-hour invested doubles, because you stop pouring optimization into a leaking vessel.

Domain: health × affective neuroscience × psychiatry

Testable-if: Adherence streaks for sleep, food, and movement are at least 3x longer during euthymic epochs vs. hypomanic/depressive epochs (validated daily mood log); accumulated-capacity metrics (HRV trend, subjective energy) reset toward baseline within 72h of any mood episode regardless of prior streak length.

How to invoke

In any future session, opening with summon MOOD-SUBSTRATE loads this prior as the operating assumption. The agent asks: is this knowledge structure portable? It strips model-specific assumptions and looks for universal structure.
